A new material for fire protection of plastic pipe penetrations has been developed!

At the end of May 2021, the development of a new product in the TM Ammokote line of fire retardant materials was completed. The fire retardant material is an elastic intumescent tape with a reinforcing mesh made of a special type of flame retardant fiber.

The tape received the trade name Ammokote BS and is currently undergoing certification.

The use of Ammokote BS tape for fire protection of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride and other types of plastic allows increasing the redistribution of fire resistance of penetrations up to 60 minutes.

This technical solution will allow a more rational approach to the choice of a fire retardant for various fire resistance requirements – the Ammokote FC-180 fire retardant sleeve with a fire resistance of up to 180 minutes, and the Ammokote BS fire retardant tape – with a fire resistance of up to 60 minutes.
